Activities

Our youth stay busy, but all of our activities are part of a larger purpose of supporting our goals and objectives as a youth ministry. Summer camps, Spring Break Mission Trips, Choir tours, Mountain Outreach construction projects, Graduating Seniors annual trek to the Bahamas, Jr/Sr Leadership Retreats, Fall Retreat to Ridgecrest, Ski Retreats, Super Bowl Outreach Parties, and all other activities help our young people develop spiritually, emotionally, socially, and physically. Whether they are indoor skydiving in Pigeon Forge, leading children's camp in New York City, hang gliding at Jockeys Ridge, rafting the Pigeon River, or enjoying the beach at Garden City, South Carolina, they are part of a youth group that cares for them, and helps them succeed in some of the most challenging circumstances!

Youth Ministry at College Park Baptist Church begins with the family. Our desire is to strengthen the family by providing activities that allow young people to develop closer relationships with God, family, and friends. Time and effort is spent in training our youth workers in current youth issues, creative teaching methods, and youth discipleship. We also feature a developing Parent Ministry, offering meetings, prayer support groups, and workshops for parents. Joint fellowships with youth and their parents help young people to relate with their parents on a different social level. Our desire is to help parents in every way possible as they work through the process of rearing an adolescent.

A strong emphasis is placed on Bible study and prayer in most all of our meeting times. Our young people understand the importance of seeking out the truth in God's Word, rather than accept 21st Century relativism. They have also seen first-hand the power of prayer, and they understand the importance of truly sharing one another's burdens.

If you are looking for a place "where re-creation begins", then come join us at "The Park"!

Creative Ministries

If you ask someone about the youth ministry of College Park, one of the first things they might say is, "they really have some creative ways for their young people to lead in worship, and express their faith!" We strive to constantly develop new ministries that both meet the needs of our youth, and at the same time give them a comfortable vehicle through which they can share their faith in Jesus Christ. yoU-Turn (praise band), Eye Witness (interpretive movement), the Puppet Team, and Ainesis (choir) are four active ministries that are enthusiastically supported by our youth!

Sports

Team sports are an important way to teach cooperation, and sacrifice for a common goal. We maintain a coed softball team, and three different youth basketball teams. "Game Day" is fun for all of our youth!

Missions

Missions at College Park are a high priority, both in the individual lives of our youth, as well as the projects they undertake as a group. Our youth work side-by-side with our adults as we build a house together each summer in Kentucky, as a part of Mountain Outreach. Other short term mission projects have included trips to Charleston, SC (Charleston Outreach), and Pinetops, NC (flood relief). Some of our youth have also experienced foreign mission trips to Antigua, the Dominican Republic, and Haiti. We also provide monthly support to children in Bolivia through Compassion International, and our Challengers and Acteens are heavily involved with local mission projects on a weekly basis!
